Join AirAsia as an Operations Research intern, applying analytical techniques to solve airline industry challenges.

Your role

Key responsibilities as follows:

  • Collaborates with senior analysts and managers to identify and define key operational problems.
  • Develops and implements mathematical models and algorithms for complex optimization problems using techniques like linear programming and simulation.
  • Collects, cleans, and analyzes large datasets with statistical methods and programming languages such as Python.
  • Develops data visualizations and reports to effectively communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Assists in the implementation and monitoring of optimization solutions in operational systems.
  • Contributes to the development and improvement of analytical processes and methodologies.

About you

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
  • Strong understanding of optimization techniques and algorithms.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, including relevant data analysis libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, SciPy).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., SQL) and Linear Programming.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure) and specific airline operational domains such as revenue management, crew scheduling, or network planning.
