The Grab Malaysia Story

Tan and Tan Hooi Ling introduced the "My Teksi" app in Malaysia in 2012 to make taxi rides there secure. GrabTaxi changed its name to "Grab" in January 2016 and unveiled a brand-new logo. To facilitate smooth communication between passengers and drivers and to interpret messages when the default dialects of the driver and passenger disagree, Grab implemented the "GrabChat" in-app instant messaging tool in October 2016. Grab introduced its rewards program, GrabRewards, as well as its taxi and car-sharing services, GrabShare, in December 2016. Grab introduced the GrabCoach service in February 2017 to allow for the preservation of big passenger vehicles. To comply with legislation requiring that children under 1.35 meters be buckled into a kid booster seat or child restraint, Grab created GrabFamily for small children under 7 years old in March 2017. After that month, Grab introduced JustGrab, a flat-fare structure with fewer restrictions.
