About OCBC Bank Malaysia

Since its incorporation in 1994, OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad (“OCBC Malaysia”) has grown to become one of Malaysia’s largest foreign banks by most counts. Its Islamic banking subsidiary, OCBC Al-Amin Bank Berhad (“OCBC Al-Amin”), was the first Singapore-based Islamic Bank established in Malaysia in 2008.

As part of the liberalization efforts of the Malaysia Government, locally incorporated foreign banks in Malaysia including OCBC Malaysia were granted licenses to open new branches in 2006. This allowed OCBC Malaysia to grow its total network size to 46 branches, comprising 33 conventional branches and 13 Islamic Banking branches as of 1 December 2018.

Your role

Issuing:

  • Perform outbound calling to cardholders to confirm transactions or dispute handling
  • To handle blocking/ uplifting of blocked cards and perform card replacement
  • To conduct investigations on dispute cases and follow-ups on unauthorized  transactions from end to end
  • Work closely with Card Ops, Business Unit, and Contact Centre on customer dispute issues
  • Perform next-day report checking
  • Able to handle complaints and provide solutions to customers
  • Any other ad-hoc tasks that may be required due to Fraud Changing Environment.

Acquiring:

  • Conduct Fraud Risk Assessment for merchant acquisition and ensure adherence to MAP Guidelines and Fraud Acquiring Operational Manual.
  • Conduct telephone investigations with the merchant, acquirer as well as industry members to gather intelligence.
  • Collaborate with business units on merchant acquisition-related matters.
  • Handle emails from various parties in Acquiring Fraud Distribution Listing.
  • Support Team Lead/ Fraud Acquiring Manager in liaising with other stakeholders within the bank and external parties relating to merchant acquisition as well as merchant monitoring.
  • Handle administrative tasks that will be assigned according to needs.
  • Any other ad-hoc tasks that may be required due to Fraud Changing Environment.

Compliance:

  • Assist on some compliance matters as a liaison person and collaborate with the Division Risk & Prevention, Regulatory Compliance Unit, Independent reviewers, and others.
  • Support to carry out Anti-Money Laundering transaction checks and Suspicious Transaction Reporting (STR) to Bank Negara Malaysia via Financial Intelligence System (FINS). 
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external guidelines.
  • Assist with MIS and Compliance reports preparation and ensure the submission is timely and accurate.
  • Any other ad-hoc tasks that may be required due to Fraud Changing Environment from Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), Issuing and Acquiring guidelines.
